Making Your Home Feel New Again!
We all like to think of where we live as “home”. A place to rest our feet after a hard day of work or to gather with friends and family. A place that we fill with picture frames, paintings, furniture and memories. Although it can be fun to change the way our home looks, it can also get expensive. Here are a few ways to change the look and feel of your home, without burning a hole in your pocket.
- One word: Pillows. They make a difference in the way your home looks. Buy a few and throw them around your living room. Try and get pillows that have bright colors and patterns. Put a
pillow with colorful zebra stripes onto your polka dot chair. Take a leopard pillow and throw it onto a floral sofa. Try even putting a furry pillow on a textured chair. Mixing and matching different colors, patterns and textures adds dimension to your home and changes the look as well. Don’t be afraid to try something new and step outside the box. Have some fun with it! - Change the artwork on your wall. Moving the artwork around the house will give it a different look and feel. Try taking the picture hanging in your bedroom and move it to the living room. Change the painting in your hallway with one from your dining room. Making little adjustments around the house can give it a brand new feeling.
- Try something as simple as changing the tablecloth on your kitchen or dining room table. Add a color or pattern with a warmer color to brighten the room.
- Stop by a yard sale. Next time a neighbor is having a yard or garage sale, stop by and take a look. This is a great way to pick up nice and inexpensive items. Pick up a few pieces to place around the house as art.
- Want to have a fun day with friends? Go consignment shopping! Look up several shops in your area and take some friends. Walk around for ideas and inspiration.
Changing the look of your home doesn’t have to be expensive. Making small changes to your home can make it feel like you just moved in again!
