How to decorate your home on a budget
Everyone knows that decorating your home can be fun…and expensive. Here are a few tips to help give your home a personal touch and not burn a hole in your pocket.
1. Try finding an inexpensive headboard. Check local thrift shops and hotel liquidators. Getting a new headboard can dramatically change the look of your bedroom, giving it a personal touch.
2. Try to buy things that serve as duel purpose. Buy an ottoman with built in storage space. Try and find a sofa that can be turned into a bed. This way you are only spending money on one item, but are able to use it for multiple purposes.
3. Good lighting is always essential. Dark areas make rooms appear smaller than they actually are. Giving room lots of light will brighten the room; making it appear bigger. While some people think lamps are expensive, they can be found at affordable prices. Our store has lamps starting at $9.99. I recently bought a floor lamp for only $14.99. If you cant come check out our store, try other liquidator companies or thrift stores. If you have plenty of lamps already, but want to change the look of the room, try switching out the shades. Instead of getting rid of the entire lamp, find a different shade, which can change the entire look of the fixture; making it appear brand new.
Remember to keep it simple, and skip the big retailers. Support small, local thrift shops and liquidator companies. Instead of going to Ikea or a big furniture store, do some research online and find a liquidation store near you.
