Michael J. Grimmé
President and CEO of AMC Liquidators, an upscale hotel and office furniture and
equipment acquisition and distribution company.
Mr. Grimmé holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace
Engineering from the University of Delaware, and a Master of Business
Administration from Widener University in Pennsylvania. He is a past
President of the Fort Lauderdale Rotary Club, and a Board member
of the Broward County Boys and Girls Club.. He is also a former board
member of the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Fort
Lauderdale Lodging and Hospitality Association and the Advisory Board
of Regent Bank. Mr. Grimmé is a graduate of Leadership Broward,
and is a member of the Broward Alliance, Marine Industries Association,
and has served on the City of Fort Lauderdale Beach Redevelopment
Advisory Board and Budget advisory Board.
Mr. Grimme moved to Fort Lauderdale after an 18-year career in the
international crude oil trading industry, based primarily in Europe
and worked for Sunoco and then Phibro Energy where his last position
was Vice-Chairman. Phibro Energy is now a division of Citigroup.
His holding company (Grimme’ Holdings) has owned several hotels
and also a web development business in the past. The company is now
primarily focused on the liquidation business and real estate investments.
Grimme’ Holdings was awarded the 2001 South Florida Small Business
of the Year by the South Florida Business Journal and Mr. Grimme
was also previously awarded Small Business of the Year by the Fort
Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.
Mike has a wife, Pamela, and four children, Ashley, Michael, Chelsea, and Amanda. He has a pilot's license and considers flying, boating, playing squash and mountain climbing his main hobbies.
